What breed of cat do you think this is? (Stray)?

No pictures sorry but I saw this stray cat with kittens but that's a different story (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100322200418AArTptE&r=w) and well I want to know what kind it is. I think it's a Main Coon because it had long hair that looked well-groomed though and it's fur was rust-brown and really pretty. The kittens are black with white patches I think, and fuzzy! The cats were so beautiful and I noticed the I-Think-Orphaned Kitten was meowing a lot.
