How to trade my flute?

I have a powell signature series flute and I want to trade it for a different professional flute. The one I have sings beautifully in the middle and lower octave, but the high octave is a little stiff. I want a flute with a little more of a jazzier sound to it, with more ease in the higher octave. I'm not sure how to go about trading/selling it for a different one. I live in Nashville but the music shops around here are not very helpful and do not normally carry high end woodwinds (it's all about guitars). I bought my flute used, and I still payed a pretty penny for it so I'm really not looking to sell it to a music shop. Some of the places I've tried to go won't even take it. what should i do?
