Is it ok if i dont have my wedding party set in couples but all as singles for the whole day?

The walk up sounds good. Coming back would be awkward. Could they pair up on the way back and the last man/woman have two men/women? They would look like they won big on the deal by getting a person for each arm. I think that would look cute.
