My throat hurts when I swallow?

I knew this would happen. A few days ago I had an odd mucus feeling in my throat and tried as much as I could to get rid of it before it was too late. Sadly, I was too late and now my throat hurts whenever I swallow. I can't eat or drink without feeling the pain. The pain comes from the top right side. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it before I started getting a stuffy nose and then just get wosre for about 1-2 weeks? I've gargled with listerine, sprayed a type of "Sore throat spray" and have drank very hot tea. Nothings working so far. Any other ideas? Orange juice isn't an option since it gives me allergies for some odd reason. Any help would be appreciated!
