Any mommies out there have the rainforest swing that plugs in?

i bought mine used, and i cant figure out how to get the plug to work!!! it has two different places for it to plug in (top and bottom) and i've tried both, and get nothing. i dont know if im doing something wrong or if i just got a crappy resale... please help!! my DD loves it and i cant afford the batteries!!
