How do I get my 9-month to eat finger foods?

My son is 9 months and I feed him by spoon Stage 2 baby foods. Occasionally, I mash up bananas and sweet potatoes but also feed by spoon. He still does not pick up any food by himself, and the few times I tried to give him little squares of ripe pears or lumpy Stage 3 food, he swallows so aggressively and gags. It's so hard for me to watch. Everybody tells me to give him Gerber Puffs but I find them to be so hard; I am certain he'll gag. Just diagnosed with PCOS?

I went to the Dr. cause I was having irregular periods. While I was there he asked me how often I had a period (3-5/year) and then asked whether I had hair on my . (I don't) He then told me that due to the fact that I don't have hair on my that I have a very mild case of PCOS. However, I do have extra hair on my upper lip, chin, and under my belly on and he didn't even ask about this. He didn't really even tell me what PCOS was and what I know about it I have looked up online (which can be wrong) so I'm not sure if I know what Im talking about. Anywho, he put me on Aviane birth control and told me to come back in 3mos to check on B/C and have bloodwork done to be "actually diagnosed." While on this B/C I had some problems with it. I had sore that I couldn't even wear a bra for the whole 3mos, a headache the WHOLE TIME, and I had nose bleeds. When I told the Dr. about the nose bleeds he said I was imagining it cause he had never heard of it. But it clearly reads in the drug info packet he gave me that that is a serious side effect of this stuff. When I went back he simply switched the B/C and didn't do any blood work. He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about when I asked if he was going to do any blood work. I also have read that hair loss can be caused by PCOS-I have bald spots ... he says that its not though. So, I guess I want to know if I need blood work done or not. Are there any alternatives to B/C? And can PCOS cause hair loss like that?

My step mother in law is the mega beast. She has to be the most miserable person I know. She has done so many petty things. It is premarital property. She also continues on about being 10 yrs younger then his dad and tells my hubby don't think your inheriting anything b/c you father won't out live me. No one likes her b/c she is so petty and I don't like dealing with her b/c I am an slightly above average girl and I don't have problems with people ever. Well one day I finally got angry enough to tell my father in law about all the things she did and says and lies about. I told him I wasn't dealing with it anymore. He told me if I didn't like it I could hit the road so I told him no you can hit the road. Then I put them both out of mine and hubby's life for 5 years. Then my hubby's grand dad ped away and we let by gone be bygones. It has been wonderful for the past year or so but she still does petty little things. I'm in a similar situation. I graduated from High school when i was 17. I am 19 now and have yet to enter college for lack of money. I am working right now at a department store, having to deal with rude people who lack manners. Being in this situation has made me want to work harder and earn the money to be able to attend a college so i won't be stuck in this job for life, like many do. I also do the same like envisioning what my future life will be like. My only advise is to not give up and use every resource you can to make it to college, good luck.

Hi. Over the course of about a month, perhaps a bit more, my habit biting the sides of nail beds has gotten completely out of control. I guess it was only when I was bored, but it is now literally all the time. After I got a manicure, and they trimmed them down, it was a little bit better. Now it's ridiculous to the point that I tried putting medical tape around my fingers. Obviously that was a failure because it was inconvenient, time consuming to wrap them and just strange looking. We are getting ready to have hardwood floors installed and there are two doors where the wood will transition to existing tile. One transition is to a bathroom and the other to a pantry. It is very good but since you already have blizzard on blastoise, why not change out the walrein to something else? I was speaking to a friend of mine this evening who was telling me about her brother. She has not seen him in some time and it has been a pattern over the years that he disappears for a while and then shows up. She gave me his name and after a little bit of searching I was able to find out that he died two years ago and was living maybe 10 miles away at the time. I was also able to find out which cemetery he is buried in and even the location of his grave. I know with 100% certainty that the person I found is my friend's brother. My friend has a difficult relationship with her family and she is having a number of her own issues right now so I am conflicted about telling her. I fear that telling her will only make her current situation more difficult for her but I also fear not telling her because while she has not seen him in some time she spoke of his tendency to reappear out of the blue after several years of no one hearing from him. I don't want her to continue to hold out some hope that he will suddenly pop up again but I also do not want to cause her any more pain. I quite like the idea of family names. Family is incredibly important. My sister's middle name is my grandmother's first name and even though it's a very old fashioned name (Dorothy) I'm incredibly jealous (esp. since I never got a chance to meet her before she died). It's important for children to know where they come from and this is a great way for them to 'stay in touch' with their past. I think it's great that your family are so close; there are so many broken families out there and so I definitely think this is a tradition that you should stick to. Be proud of your family.

So I am 22 and I hate going to frat parties/clubbing/bars because its the same boring crap over and over and over again. BUT, i love going on adventures with a girl. Hi I am a college student who is taking developmental psychology as well I have a learning disability myself. If you havent ever had a psychological evaluation I would highly recamend it. I find myself I have to ask people to repeat things many times because they are talking too fast I have a learning disability that involves slow processing speed. Basically I do not intake auditory information at the same rate as everyone else does. I have learned although I am not dumb, I am actually fairly intelligent my iq is above normal and my logic skills are actually close to genious level I am lucky. My ability to think logically is in the 80th percentile. You sound like ur in the same situation you probably have coped with your learning disablity by learning to rely on your visual skills rather than your auditory. It would probably deffinitially be worth your while to look into a psychological evaluation this will not only tell you what ur weaknesses are but allow you to understand your strengths.

Only to have the culprit kill themselves because they knew they would go down for the crime - to me that shows that they are cowards because they can't face the punishment that will befall them - however in most cases they are better off dead, it's to bad that they had to take innocent people with them. Also, what makes it common practice out there to kill police officers - officers being shot in the line of duty is increasing more and more. I think your right when your seeing signs of depression. You are also probably right when you say your too close to him to really figure it out. Your looking at all the possible causes in terms of his past as you know it. Odds are that it is something closer to home and much more recent that is responsible for his problems. If he continues to with draw you may loose him completely. I think you need to figure out at what point forcing him to see a psychiatrist is reasonable. If you don't do it then you will eventually regret it.

1986 Chevy Truck Almost Dead!?

Like I said I have a 1986 Chevy Scottsdale truck. It's not a daily driver and it kind of just sits in the driveway, so I decided to turn it on just to "warm it up." I left it running for about 15 min, turned it off and it backfired really, really LOUD, the engine sputtered for about 10 seconds before it completely shut down and now it won't start at all. I think it might be more practical to participate in some of the benefits that money can buy rather than attempting to put money away for savings. Why would someone bother making life more difficult on themself if any hope of future return on sacrifice is null? I don't suggest that anyone goes on a spending spree. However, if a person can find a relatively affordable enjoyable habit then I think that they might be just as well off indulging themself. Simply put, I know that I am more than carrying my weight, and I should have the right to partake in some enjoyable activities regardless of what person X comes forth in an attempt to claim my earned security. I've read over the years that approximately 96% of the money supply is in the form of mortgages, loans and interest which basically is all technically debt. So in other words, 96% of the money supply is in fact debt. Where as the other 4% of the money supply is in the form of paper money and coins. So my question is simply how is it mathematically possible for everyone to be debt free when the reality is there is not enough physical money to pay off all the digital debts? The world is pretty much doomed to be in debt until the end of time under this mathematical formula. In regard to this current world financial crisis some people will blame the housing market for this mess, others blame the derivatives market, others blame government spending and so on where I can keep going on for days about the many so called causes. In reality I personally feel that all of these are in fact just symptoms and results of the actual cause or larger picture which is simply the whole fiat monetary system which over time has morphed in a system of credit. It would not be befitting to put the words "money" and "credit" in the same package as they are two completely different things. We use to have "money" which was real. It was gold, it was silver, it was even copper but now our so called money is nothing more then a hollowed out shell or ghost of its former self. This "credit" we now use in today's world is flawed in the fact that it is limitless and infinite and the amount knows no bounds as long as people are willing to keep on borrowing. This system is contributing to societies irresponsible and careless ways with their finances. What ever happened to saving money? We now just swipe our credit cards and worry about it later. The personal savings rate in the United States is now at its lowest point in history. To ask a sarcastic rhetorical question, could the credit system way of life be responsible? The credit based financial system in my opinion is one huge pyramid scheme or even a game of musical chairs. I don't care whether we are talking about America's credit system or even the one on the tiny pacific country of Fiji, either way the end result will be the same. Under this system the rich will keep getting richer and the poor will keep getting poorer. Until then one day the very bankers that were behind it will own every God damn thing on the face of the Earth including your soul which you used as collateral to pay for the big screen tv that you didn't need in the first place.

I mean, I know you're thirteen and all, but you can't improve if people sugar coat everything for you. It was pretty good, but you have very simple sentances that are extremely choppy. Don't be afraid to use a coma. Also, don't make every person you introduce beautiful. A doctor also wouldn't just say "you were d", they would discuss it with you and bring it to you gently, and every time there's dialogue you start a new paragraph. There could also be more description of the hospital, how you felt, etc. And you would most likely be more surprised to find out you were in a coma for two weeks. Sorry, but this could be really good if you just fixed some simple mistakes.

Unless your mower is set way to low, it will go right over them.A few little rocks won't interfere with growing gr. Rake it level. sprinkle your seed out then use a seed starter fertilizer. After that, put some topper over the whole thing. I used Kellogg's Seed Topper but you can use what is available in your area. Make sure it is topper and not top soil,potting soil. The difference is that it holds the moisture in for a long,long time to help the seeds germinate. Keep the seeds moist until you see them sprouting. Then water a little less. Extremely important question on scoliosis? plz answer?

Hello. I'm an orthopedic physical therapist and I primarily treat the spine so I see a fair share of scoliosis. To tell you the truth, tons of people have minor scoliosis and I'm usually the first one tell them when I'm looking at their spine. To answer your question, don't be scared about the habits you described. As long as you don't always sit on the same side every single time and hang out their for hours and as long as you don't lay down on your side all the time then you shouldn't worry about this causing your scoliosis to get worse. Having said that, poor posture and letting your body, especially your trunk/core muscles get weak, will make it get worse (over a long period of time...I'm not talking like in 1 month, more like many years). So, if you usually sit/stand with good posture and stay fit, then you should be good. To work your core though, don't just do sit ups though; that works your abdominal muscles but that's just part of core. You need to work the back muscles too as well as the and scapula muscles - most people have a lot of weakness here. Examples of exercises include pullups like you're doing and also rows (shoulder blade squeezes with resistance), bridges, leg and arm lifts lying on your stomach. Now, these exercises are great and if you're healthy and have no orthopedic problems then you'll probably be ok but, if you do them wrongly or you have something else going on, they may cause pain which they shouldn't. So my best recommendation is to go see your local friendly orthopedic physical therapist for help. They'll be able to test your muscles more comprehensively and tell you what muscles are weak (possibly due to scoliosis) and can help set you up with the best exercise plan. Hope this helps.

Ktm mx 250 idle problem?

my ktm wont idle. there are no screws on the carburettor but on the choke lever it says you can screw it in and out to set the idle. if i screw it right out it will idle for 20 seconds then it chokes up and stalls and turning it in just doesn't do anything. any ideas?

How do I get my 5yr old cat to accept a not quit one year old cat?

I have a spoiled rotten 5 year old cat and have rescued a not quite one year old cat from under the dumpster at work. I made the mistake when I brought the little one home last night of just setting down the carrier and expecting my older one to start acting nice! Didn't work!! Now I'm trying to follow the advice of the experts and have them separated in different rooms. I'm curious if anyone else has tried this method and what the results were. My older cat has been labeled the "devil cat" and such by my friends..so that tells you what I'm dealing with. I agree with the others who said Italy or southern europe. The cap the boy is wearing just says italian to me. The children got dark hair and what appears to be an olive skin tone, but it's hard to tell because the picture is faded. They appear to have deep set eyes, with dominent eyebrows. He would have been 11 this October, but he was just put to sleep because of a tumor. He began having problems going to the bathroom in the house after being housetrained for 9 1/2+ years! Harley would go in the house sometimes after being in for only 15 minutes. OK here is the drill I have had my largest dog named Missy for about 6 or 7 years. I found her as a stray and did not want to send her to the pound. The problem is that she will not get in the bath tub, she use to love baths, is it because of her age she has a stubborn strike I wish she would come out of this phase and get back to her fun loving state but it seems that all she wants to do is lay around and do nothing (LOL). At the moment I can not afford to pay anyone to give her a bath so I was wondering what do I do. I tried the whole treat thing in the bathroom, giving her treats did managed to get her in the bathroom just not in the tub. I have also given her one on the hose but she gets very angry when I do that. But all and all she does listen when I tell her to sit, stay, you know basic commands, but when it comes to bath time it's another story. Traveling and giving solids to my 7 month old?

Each of the next two weekends we are flying out of town with my 7 month old son to visit family. One time will be with my husband and the next will be just me and my son. 3 of the 4 flights coincide with a time when I usually give my son solid food. He has been eating solids for about 2 months now and eats two huge meals of them (today for lunch he ate a large serving of oatmeal, a 4 oz jar of pears, and about 2 oz of mango). The process is really messy and he always tries to grab the spoon and feed himself which makes it even more messy. My question is, during those flights can we skip the solids and just nurse him? Will he miss them since he is eating so much? Should I change the timing around of when I offer them or will this confuse him? We will be trying to keep the same nap schedule and everything else while we are away. What have you done when traveling with your 6-8 month old who is eating solids but not yet less messy finger foods like cheerios?

How to trade my flute?

I have a powell signature series flute and I want to trade it for a different professional flute. The one I have sings beautifully in the middle and lower octave, but the high octave is a little stiff. My 6 week old son, im worried that he has colic, any advice or suggestions?

here's what he's doing,.. It seems his best hours are between 2 AM and 2 PM because around 2 pm he stops sleeping, He wakes up around 2 and eats then just fusses and cries until hes hungry again about 45 minutes later. Then i feed him some more and he will continue to fuss and maybe fall asleep for like 15 minutes but then hes back up again. It lasts until literally his 8 o'clock bath and bottle. then he finally falls asleep until about 11 or 12 but then he repeats that whole process over again until 2 sometimes 4 am... is this normal? if so any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated...

I was arrested on 10/4/2010 for Malicious wounding I had turned my self in... i finally got a 10,000 dollar bond on the 13th of October 2010... i was indicted by the grand jury in December of 2010. then had an arraignment and my jury trial was set for June 2nd 2011... Well my public defender called me today to tell me that the prosecutor did not want to accept the plea he offered of dropping in to misdemeanor ault. he then tells me that the court is continuing it, not him or the commonwealth. He said maybe for reasons such as too many cases on the docket that day.. Well this has been dragged out since October so what right do I have?! I want it heard ASAP. I want it all done and over with. In a nutshell.. I was at a party, another girl and I got in a fight. Her boyfriend and another guy broke us up. Her boyfriend than choked me and would NOT let go. I feared for my life so i hit him in the nose w/ a beer bottle (closest thing on ground). How would I ask for a speedy trial? Or would that not be a good idea at this point? And what are the chances of the prosecutor changing her mind about the plea? This is also in the state of Virginia

I am looking for a wonderfully beautiful, secluded out of the way place to have my wedding. It will be a very small gathering ( 5 people) and we would prefer a place that is out in nature, publicly accesable, and beautiful. The fewer tourist that we run into the better. Neither of us are big hikers, so a place that is easy to get to woudl be best, but a little hiking is okay. Waterfalls, forests, and wonderful views will be top of our list.
